This book is part of the Institute for Global and Strategic Studies (IGSS)’ annual program to disseminate our researchers’ perspectives on global issues. As our researchers have varied interests, we approach global politics from different perspectives, including security, international politics, political economy, poli- tical Islam, social movement, genders, and environmental perspectives. The chapters contained in this book had been presented at our outlook webinar in December 2021. This seminar was divided into three rooms, each with a specific cluster, namely, international security and politics, political economy, as well as social, culture and religion. The webinar was also attended by hundreds of participants from different institutions. As this is an annual event, we are hopeful that this yearly outlook on global politics will be continued in the coming years. Not only through analysing issues in global politics, but we also attempt to provide policy recommendations and critical appraisals. It is in our hope that our small effort can contribute to making the world a better place. All in all, any kind of suggestion from readers is welcomed. Through which, we can make improvements and ensure that this effort can be more impactful to the global citizen.
